5 Ways To Reorganize Your Life

Well, Summer is gone and Fall is officially here my friends. It is a great time to take an assessment of what is working or not working in our lives and make some changes. I like to do that often and here are 5 easy ways that I have done it:

  1. Write down my goals for the next day before I go to sleep. Now I am not saying I do this all the time, but when I don't do it my days don't run as smoothly. Writing things down in advance helps me to relieve my thoughts of stress and chaos and helps me to sleep easier.

  2. Rise early to meditate & pray. I am a Christian and getting up early to pray in the quiet or listen to an inspirational sermon or uplifting music always does the trick for me. Whatever your faith is or isn't getting into a routine where you rise early to sit and meditate before your day begins can help to set the right tone throughout your day.

  3. Workout Daily. I love to walk and do Zumba. My main exercise these days is walking fast. There are many hilly streets here in the Bay Area and it provides its' own outdoor gym landscape. It gives me an opportunity to clear my mind, get fresh air and take in natures beauty.

  4. Eat Well. Now I am not going to tell you that I am THE most conscientious eater. Nope! I love my fried foods and cheesecake just like the next person BUT I am learning to decrease my intake of fatty foods, eat smaller portions, eat more vegetables and drink more water. And that is a start. 

  5. Focus more on the positive things in life. My husband loves it when something isn't going as planned and I start off my conversation with "Well look at the bright side". He really doesn't sometimes and laughs, but in all honesty, it is good to shift your focus to the bright side of things. This is great even if things are really going to hell in a handbasket. It is always a good reminder to remember that it can always be worse than it is and to be grateful for what you have.

I don't know about you, but I have experienced burn out more times than I can count. It can be difficult to get the energy to continue to go after your goals when you're just plain out of gas. So the question becomes how do we stay inspired when you are in a rut?
You can try a few ways that I have listed below and let me know if it works for you.

Take time out of your life first thing in the morning to pray and meditate

Get moving and go walk, run, skip whatever you do to move and bring along a good motivational podcast or some good upbeat music

Get organized and do the smallest thing on your list first. This will help to build momentum throughout your day.

Everyone gets stuck in a rut from time to time.  The key is to get unstuck and back on track as soon as possible.
