The Best Sources For Making Money Working From Home
Working from home is starting to become the new normal. I have worked as a freelancer/entrepreneur from home for over two years and that is how I put butter on my bread. :) So I can speak first hand on what sites that I have used and have tried and which one worked the best for me. Everyone is different and has different goals, tastes and skills. The 3 sites below have given me work, some I just received interviews but didn’t get the job but at least I didn’t get crickets.
Upwork - This is the primary site that I use to find clients and provide services.
Pros - It is fairly easy to get started. You just need to create a profile and that is pretty much it. When I started you had to do testing but I don’t think that is a requirement anymore. Once you get a client and complete the job it is pretty easy to get paid and be on your way.
Cons - It can be hard at first to get a client. The site works on feedback reviews from your clients. You receive a score and that is posted on your profile. Well if you haven’t had a client yet then it can be hard to get that first one to take a chance on you and hire you for the job. The best tip I can share is to price your service low until you get the first client and then incrementally raise your rates after you get more clients under your belt. That is the technique that worked for me and I currently have a 100% client rating after working on over 40 jobs and over 2000 hours.
Remote.co - I have used this site to apply for jobs and I have received a few interviews.
Pros - It is free and easy to get started. You just log on to the site and look for jobs under the skill you have and apply. That is it.
Cons - It can be hard to know if your application didn’t go into the ether but this is just like most job sites. Also if you are looking for a certain industry there might be limited listings for your skillset.
Flexjobs - I have used this site and received a few interviews from it but nothing that led to a paying opportunity.
Pros - It has a great database of jobs to choose from so if you have a diverse skillset then this is your place to look.
Cons - it isn’t free but it is economical and there are usually promo codes listed online or on the site itself.
So there you have it! These are the 3 best sites that I know of to get legitimate decent-paying work from home opportunities. I wish you the best in finding your dream job and working from home stress-free.
