Picture yourself in this scenario:
You are on a first date with someone you are really attracted to and things are going great. This person might be the "ONE". You nervously contemplate should you end the evening with a kiss goodnight, a "night cap" or simply say goodnight. What you decide will set the tone for better or worse for future encounters with this person. The person who simply says goodnight knows a thing or two about patience and puts great trust in the motto "All Good Things Come to Those Who Wait". The person who chooses to do the other two options risk rushing into a situation that may be the wrong fit for them.
The Same Holds True In Business
Let's say that you are in a meeting with someone who is presenting you with a great career opportunity. And they start to describe the perks of the job, the benefits & pay. All that sounds great, but what are you going to need to do on a daily basis within this "great career opportunity"? Be patient enough to analyze the fine print to see exactly what you are agreeing to do in exchange for your time and for the money. This piece of advice is one that I push myself daily to follow within the business world.
Why Do You Need Patience?
Patience is necessary to give you the time to analyze a situation, research the facts and LISTEN to your inner-self to see if this is something that resonates within your soul or if you are simply selling yourself out for a buck. Just because something looks good on the outside doesn't mean it is the right thing for YOU.
My goal in 2016 is to make patience more of a friend than foe. What about you?
