Be Inspired To Live & Work Authentically!
What comes to mind when you think of how you will look back on your life on your death bed?
Will you have fond memories filled with experiences with friends and family?
Will you be regretful of things you didn't give yourself permission to do?
Well, now is the time to stop and take stock of your life: work, lifestyle, spirituality and health. Are these things in order to what you truly desire for yourself? If not, then it is time to start living life on purpose so that you don't waste any talents or gifts that were given to you. I am a Christian and believe that we have all been given special missions for being here on this earth. We shouldn't waste time doing things we are not passionate about and that are hollow.
Rick Warren states in his book Purpose Driven Life that “Time is your most precious gift, because you only have a set amount of it. You can make more money, but you can't make more time. When you give someone your time, you are giving them a portion of your life that you'll never get back. Your time is your life. That is why the greatest gift you can give someone is your time".
How are you spending your time?
Are you working at a dead end job that you hate because you haven't taken the time to figure out what you truly want to do with your life? If this is true, then the number one thing you can do right this minute is to be still and get into the present moment. Leo Babauta of Zen Habits asks the question, "What’s stopping us from being present right now"? This is a great question to stop and ponder. No matter what faith you believe in it is important to stop, take stock of your life, be present and live life on purpose.
Seriously.
We don't have all the time in the world. All we have is right now to share our special gifts with the world. Yes carpentry is a gift, yes, knowing how to communicate and diffuse an angry customer with care is a gift, yes, sitting still for hours on end while you happily calculate numbers is a gift. It doesn't have to be a glamourous thing that you share just something that you do with passion and love. So what can you do right now to live life more purposefully? Do you want to reach the end of your life and be filled with regret?

Be Do Have!
Living simple is easier said than done. I am a busy body and love being in motion: learning, creating and doing. But as lovely as this can be, it can lead to feeling drained and non-productive. So I wanted to post 3 tips that I will be taking myself to live a more simple and fulfilled life.
Tip#1
Prioritize and execute: We can't do everything all at once. Pick the top 3 things you must do each day and let the rest go.
Tip#2
Relax and Release: What good is accomplishing your to do list if you always feel stressed out. Make a date with yourself weekly to do whatever brings your heart joy. Be in the moment and do it alone.
Tip#3
Create a Vision Board: This is something that I have done in the past and just revisited recently. It is an awesome way to see all your life's goals and dreams in one place. Review it often for inspiration.
Living a simple and fulfilling life is easier than we think. In the spirit of that I will be posting blogs once per week instead of two. I hope you will sit and reflect on how you can simplify your life. We all need downtime to create a fulfilling lifestyle by doing work we love. What tips do you have on living a more simple and fulfilling life? Share with me in the comments below.
Be Do Have!
In my last post about focusing on self-improvement I mentioned a little comment that stated " But what if you are drained, tired and just don’t have any motivation left". I stopped to take a hard look at that thought. What if you are just plain tired and don't have anything left? How can you get across the finish line when there is no more energy to push you forward?
Stop!
I have this problem quite regularly as I move toward accomplishing goals and I don't pretend to be a mental health professional. I just do certain things that work and maybe they will work for you.
Wake up early and Meditate-There is something to be said for being in a quiet room alone early in the morning and just taking in the stillness. I allow myself to just be without limitations.
Get Moving- I try to find some quick form of exercise like Zumba or even taking a quick walk outside or just do jumping jacks in the living room
Do Something Creative- We are all creative beings and the first portion of the day is a great time to release your inner artist and do something like writing or playing music to get energized.
These are not groundbreaking tips, but they work for me and keep me sane and on the path to success. What about you? What are some things that you do first thing in the morning to get yourself energized? Tell me in the comments below.
